Detailed Itinerary

  1. Day 1 — Arrival in Delhi

Delhi greets you on landing. After a smooth transfer to your hotel and check-in, take the rest of the day easy before sightseeing begins tomorrow. India's capital layers Mughal-era monuments, colonial-era boulevards and a fast-moving modern city into one sprawling metropolis. A day here moves between the walled lanes of Old Delhi and the wide avenues of New Delhi. Don't miss India Gate and the President's House.

  2. Day 2 — Delhi

There's more of Delhi to see today: a cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk.

  3. Day 3 — Delhi to Bikaner

After breakfast, drive on to Bikaner. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. A quieter desert city than its Rajasthani neighbours, Bikaner centres on Junagarh Fort -- notable for surviving intact without ever being conquered -- and its camel-breeding traditions. Don't miss old-city havelis and bazaars.

  4. Day 4 — Bikaner

There's more of Bikaner to see today: the camel research farm.

  5. Day 5 — Bikaner to Jaisalmer

After breakfast, drive on to Jaisalmer. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Rising out of the Thar Desert in honey-coloured sandstone, Jaisalmer is built around a living fort -- homes, shops and temples still occupy Jaisalmer Fort today, alongside the carved havelis of its merchant families. Don't miss Patwon Ki Haveli's stone lattice-work.

  6. Day 6 — Jaisalmer

Today brings more time in Jaisalmer -- folk music around a desert camp.

  7. Day 7 — Jaisalmer to Jodhpur

After breakfast, you'll be driven to Jodhpur, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Jodhpur's old town spreads out in a wash of indigo-blue houses below Mehrangarh Fort, one of India's largest and best-preserved forts, still ruling the skyline from its sandstone cliff. Don't miss Mehrangarh Fort's ramparts and museum.

  8. Day 8 — Jodhpur

Another day around Jodhpur, with time for Sardar Market and the clock tower.

  9. Day 9 — Jodhpur to Udaipur

After breakfast, you'll be driven to Udaipur, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Built around Lake Pichola with the Aravalli hills as a backdrop, Udaipur is Rajasthan's most romantic city -- white palaces, lakeside havelis and narrow bazaars stacked with miniature art. Don't miss Jagdish Temple and the old-city bazaars.

  10. Day 10 — Udaipur to Deogarh

After breakfast, drive on to Deogarh. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Spend the day taking in Deogarh at an easy, unhurried pace.

  11. Day 11 — Deogarh to Jaipur

This morning you'll transfer on to Jaipur. Once you've checked in, the afternoon is yours to explore the town at an easy pace. Rajasthan's capital is known for its rose-pink old city walls, its hilltop forts and a royal history that's still visible in its palaces and bazaars. Don't miss an elephant or jeep ride up to Amber Fort.

  12. Day 12 — Jaipur to Agra

After breakfast, drive on to Agra. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Agra's skyline is built around the Taj Mahal, the white-marble mausoleum Shah Jahan built for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, but the city's Mughal history runs deeper across its fort and tomb complexes. Don't miss Itmad-ud-Daulah, the 'Baby Taj'.

  13. Day 13 — Agra to Delhi

This morning you'll transfer on to Delhi. Once you've checked in, the afternoon is yours to explore the town at an easy pace. India's capital layers Mughal-era monuments, colonial-era boulevards and a fast-moving modern city into one sprawling metropolis. A day here moves between the walled lanes of Old Delhi and the wide avenues of New Delhi. Don't miss Red Fort and Jama Masjid in Old Delhi.

  14. Day 14 — Delhi to Bagdogra

After breakfast, you'll be driven to Bagdogra, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Spend the day taking in Bagdogra at an easy, unhurried pace.

  15. Day 15 — Bagdogra to Phuentsholing

After breakfast, drive on to Phuentsholing. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Spend the day taking in Phuentsholing at an easy, unhurried pace.

  16. Day 16 — Phuentsholing to Thimphu

After breakfast, you'll be driven to Thimphu, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Bhutan's capital keeps a low skyline by law, with traditional architecture required even on modern buildings, and a giant Buddha statue watching over the valley from a hillside above town. Don't miss the weekend market.

  17. Day 17 — Paro · Departure

This is the final day of your trip. After breakfast, transfer on to Paro for your onward departure.
