Detailed Itinerary

  1. Day 1 — Arrival in Chandigarh

Chandigarh is where your journey begins. On arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your hotel, with the rest of the day free to rest or explore at your own pace. Designed by the architect Le Corbusier, Chandigarh is India's best-known planned city, known for its wide sector grid, modernist architecture and the whimsical Rock Garden built from recycled materials. Don't miss Sukhna Lake.

  2. Day 2 — Chandigarh

Today brings more time in Chandigarh -- Le Corbusier's Capitol Complex architecture.

  3. Day 3 — Chandigarh to Shimla

After breakfast, drive on to Shimla. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Once the summer capital of British India, Shimla still keeps its colonial-era Mall Road, Christ Church and the toy-train line climbing up from the plains through pine forest. Don't miss The Ridge and Mall Road.

  4. Day 4 — Shimla

There's more of Shimla to see today: Jakhoo Temple viewpoint.

  5. Day 5 — Shimla to Kufri

After breakfast, drive on to Kufri. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. A short drive from Shimla, Kufri is a popular half-day trip for its meadows, pony rides and, in winter, some of the most accessible snow near the town. Don't miss views toward the Himalayan range.

  6. Day 6 — Kufri to Manali

After breakfast, you'll be driven to Manali, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Manali sits at the head of the Kullu Valley on the Beas River, ringed by snow peaks, and is the usual base for day trips into the high passes and pine forests above it. Don't miss Solang Valley and Hadimba Temple.

  7. Day 7 — Manali to Dharamshala & McLeod Ganj

After breakfast, you'll be driven to Dharamshala & McLeod Ganj, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. McLeod Ganj, above Dharamshala, has been home to the Tibetan community-in-exile since the 1960s -- prayer flags, monasteries and mountain views over the Kangra Valley give the town its distinct character. Don't miss Kangra Valley viewpoints.

  8. Day 8 — Chandigarh · Departure

Your tour comes to an end today. After breakfast, you'll be driven to Chandigarh, with a stop or two along the way as the route allows, in time for your onward flight or journey home.
