Detailed Itinerary

  1. Day 1 — Arrival in Delhi

Delhi greets you on landing. After a smooth transfer to your hotel and check-in, take the rest of the day easy before sightseeing begins tomorrow. India's capital layers Mughal-era monuments, colonial-era boulevards and a fast-moving modern city into one sprawling metropolis. A day here moves between the walled lanes of Old Delhi and the wide avenues of New Delhi. Don't miss India Gate and the President's House.

  2. Day 2 — Delhi

There's more of Delhi to see today: a cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk.

  3. Day 3 — Delhi to Jaipur

After breakfast, drive on to Jaipur. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Rajasthan's capital is known for its rose-pink old city walls, its hilltop forts and a royal history that's still visible in its palaces and bazaars. Don't miss an elephant or jeep ride up to Amber Fort.

  4. Day 4 — Jaipur

Another day around Jaipur, with time for City Palace and Jantar Mantar observatory.

  5. Day 5 — Jaipur to Agra

This morning you'll transfer on to Agra. Once you've checked in, the afternoon is yours to explore the town at an easy pace. Agra's skyline is built around the Taj Mahal, the white-marble mausoleum Shah Jahan built for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, but the city's Mughal history runs deeper across its fort and tomb complexes. Don't miss sunrise or sunset at the Taj Mahal.

  6. Day 6 — Agra

Today brings more time in Agra -- Agra Fort's palaces and courtyards.

  7. Day 7 — Agra to Khajuraho

After breakfast, drive on to Khajuraho. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Khajuraho's temple complex is renowned worldwide for the extraordinarily detailed stone carving covering its sandstone temples, built by the Chandela dynasty over a thousand years ago. Don't miss the sound-and-light show.

  8. Day 8 — Khajuraho

There's more of Khajuraho to see today: the temples' intricate sculptural friezes.

  9. Day 9 — Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh National Park

After breakfast, you'll be driven to Bandhavgarh National Park, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Bandhavgarh has one of the highest tiger densities of any reserve in India, its forest scattered with ancient caves and a hilltop fort overlooking the core zone. Don't miss ancient rock-cut caves within the reserve.

  10. Day 10 — Delhi · Departure

After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye — you'll be driven to Delhi and transferred onward for your flight or journey home.
