Detailed Itinerary
-
Day 1 — Arrival in Delhi
Delhi greets you on landing. After a smooth transfer to your hotel and check-in, take the rest of the day easy before sightseeing begins tomorrow. India's capital layers Mughal-era monuments, colonial-era boulevards and a fast-moving modern city into one sprawling metropolis. A day here moves between the walled lanes of Old Delhi and the wide avenues of New Delhi. Don't miss India Gate and the President's House.
-
Day 2 — Delhi
There's more of Delhi to see today: a cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk.
-
Day 3 — Delhi to Haridwar
After breakfast, you'll be driven to Haridwar, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Haridwar marks the point where the Ganga leaves the Himalayan foothills and enters the plains, and its evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri draws crowds every night of the year. Don't miss the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri.
-
Day 4 — Haridwar
Another day around Haridwar, with time for the ghats along the river.
-
Day 5 — Haridwar to Rishikesh
This morning you'll transfer on to Rishikesh. Once you've checked in, the afternoon is yours to explore the town at an easy pace. Known internationally as a centre for yoga and meditation, Rishikesh sits where the Ganga rushes out of the Himalayan foothills, with suspension bridges, ashrams and riverside temples along both banks. Don't miss Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula suspension bridges.
-
Day 6 — Rishikesh
Today brings more time in Rishikesh -- riverside yoga and meditation sessions.
-
Day 7 — Rishikesh to Varanasi
After breakfast, you'll be driven to Varanasi, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. One of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities, Varanasi's ghats line the Ganga for kilometres, and the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of India's most photographed rituals. Don't miss a sunrise boat ride along the ghats.
-
Day 8 — Varanasi to Agra
After breakfast, you'll be driven to Agra, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Agra's skyline is built around the Taj Mahal, the white-marble mausoleum Shah Jahan built for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, but the city's Mughal history runs deeper across its fort and tomb complexes. Don't miss sunrise or sunset at the Taj Mahal.
-
Day 9 — Agra to Mathura
This morning you'll transfer on to Mathura. Once you've checked in, the afternoon is yours to explore the town at an easy pace. Mathura and neighbouring Vrindavan are among North India's most important pilgrimage towns, revered as the birthplace and childhood home of Krishna. Don't miss Krishna Janmabhoomi temple complex.
-
Day 10 — Delhi · Departure
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye — you'll be driven to Delhi and transferred onward for your flight or journey home.
