Day 1 — Arrival in Paro
Paro greets you on landing. After a smooth transfer to your hotel and check-in, take the rest of the day easy before sightseeing begins tomorrow. Paro Valley is home to Bhutan's most iconic sight -- Paro Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest Monastery, clinging to a cliff face 900 metres above the valley floor -- alongside Paro's own dzong and old town. Don't miss the hike to Paro Taktsang (Tiger's Nest Monastery).

Day 2 — Paro
Another day around Paro, with time for Paro's traditional old town.

Day 3 — Paro to Thimphu
This morning you'll transfer on to Thimphu. Once you've checked in, the afternoon is yours to explore the town at an easy pace. Bhutan's capital keeps a low skyline by law, with traditional architecture required even on modern buildings, and a giant Buddha statue watching over the valley from a hillside above town. Don't miss the weekend market.

Day 4 — Thimphu to Punakha
After breakfast, you'll be driven to Punakha, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Bhutan's former winter capital, Punakha is built at the confluence of two rivers around Punakha Dzong, widely considered the most beautiful dzong in the country. Don't miss Punakha Dzong at the river confluence.

Day 5 — Punakha to Wangduephodrang
After breakfast, you'll be driven to Wangduephodrang, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Spend the day taking in Wangduephodrang at an easy, unhurried pace.

Day 6 — Wangduephodrang to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley)
This morning you'll transfer on to Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley). Once you've checked in, the afternoon is yours to explore the town at an easy pace. The glacial Phobjikha Valley is one of Bhutan's most scenic, and a winter home for the rare black-necked crane, watched over by Gangtey Monastery on the valley's edge. Don't miss black-necked cranes (winter season).

Day 7 — Gangtey (Phobjikha Valley) to Trongsa
After breakfast, drive on to Trongsa. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Trongsa Dzong, perched dramatically above a gorge, is the ancestral seat of Bhutan's royal family and one of the most impressive fortress-monasteries in the country. Don't miss the Ta Dzong watchtower museum.

Day 8 — Trongsa to Bumthang
After breakfast, drive on to Bumthang. On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Bumthang's four valleys are considered the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, dotted with some of the country's oldest temples and monasteries. Don't miss the valley's farmland and orchards.

Day 9 — Paro · Departure
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye — you'll be driven to Paro and transferred onward for your flight or journey home.
