Srinagar greets you on landing. After a smooth transfer to your hotel and check-in, take the rest of the day easy before sightseeing begins tomorrow. Built around Dal Lake, Srinagar is best known for its houseboats and shikara boat rides, its Mughal-era terraced gardens, and the old city's wooden mosques. Don't miss the Mughal Gardens (Shalimar, Nishat).

Day 4 — Srinagar to Leh-Ladakh
After breakfast, you'll be driven to Leh-Ladakh, with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. Ladakh's stark, high-altitude desert landscape -- framed by the Karakoram and Himalaya ranges -- is dotted with centuries-old Buddhist monasteries and turquoise high-altitude lakes, quite unlike anywhere else in India.
