India's tech capital still holds on to its 'garden city' nickname with tree-lined boulevards and Lalbagh's botanical gardens, and serves as the usual gateway to Mysore, Coorg and the hill stations further south. Day 3 — Bengaluru to Mysuru (Mysore)
After breakfast, drive on to Mysuru (Mysore). On arrival, check in and take some time to settle in before the day's sightseeing. Mysore's skyline is dominated by Mysore Palace, illuminated with close to 100,000 lights on weekend evenings, and the city carries its royal Wodeyar-dynasty history into its markets and gardens. After breakfast, you'll be driven to Ooty (Udhagamandalam), with stops along the way as the route allows. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring nearby. A former British hill station in the Nilgiri Hills, Ooty is built around a lake and botanical gardens, with the UNESCO-listed Nilgiri Mountain Railway climbing up through tea estates to reach it.
